Note di degustazione
Tasted at the Chambolle Amoureuses vertical in London, the 2000 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Amoureuses has attractive transparency on the nose that has developed a ferrous tincture, open with red cherries and a splash of balsamic. The palate is light, a little angular with slightly brittle tannin. I like the focus here, clearly a lighter Chambolle-Musigny Amoureuses, one that is drinking perfectly now, to the point where I would not cellar it too much longer. That said, it does improve in the glass, gaining more weight and harmony with aeration and as a consequence, I end up raising both sentiment and score. Tasted November 2015.

The medium to dark ruby-colored, black cherry-scented 2000 Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses explodes on the palate revealing expansive layers of lush dark berry fruit. This lovely, noble, medium-bodied outstanding wine is seamless, harmonious, and dominated by its opulent fruit. A slight hint of alcoholic heat can be discerned in its otherwise long, flawless finish. Enjoy this beauty over the next 6-7 years. Importer: Dreyfus Ashby, New York, NY; tel. (212) 818-0770
