2023 Alma Fria Pinot Noir Dona Margarita Vineyard

The 2023 Pinot Noir Doña Margarita Vineyard is the most complete of the Alma Fria Pinots I tasted. Inky dark fruit, sage, lavender, menthol and mocha infuse the 2023 with striking depth. Whole clusters (20%) add aromatic nuance without overpowering the wine's balance. The Doña Margarita is marked by a Syrah-like profile that is hugely alluring. This south-facing site performed exceptionally well in 2023.
