The 2021 Fixin En Combe Roy has more expressive red fruit on the nose than the Les Crais, more floral aromas coming forth. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, fine acidity, quite taut and linear but with an attractive saline finish. Worth seeking out.

This is aromatically similar to the Les Crais though with the addition of a discreet dollop of wood. There is a bit more volume and power to the medium-bodied flavors that flash ample minerality on the moderately austere finale that delivers first-rate depth and persistence. This excellent and ageworthy effort is a classic Fixin and very much worth your interest. Note: bottled in November 2022
From a small enclave planted with old vines just below Les Arvelets/Les Hervelets, the 2021 Fixin En Combe Roy bursts with aromas of smoky red berries, spices, orange zest and potpourri. Medium-bodied, satiny and sensual, with a vibrant core of fruit, melting tannins and a saline finish, only three barrels were produced.
