Note di degustazione
Concentrated in floral, rose petal prettiness and an earthy underbelly, the 2023 Pinot Noir Velvet Sisters is impressively elegant and complex. Black tea, garrigue, and fresh soil accent a tightly tannic midpalate of medium-bodied oomph flavored in blueberry and cardamom that finishes, yes, velvety smooth. Drink now through 2033.

The 2023 Pinot Noir Velvet Sisters comes from Anderson Valley. It’s a totally different style within this range. Dusty floral notes, black tea, rhubarb and fresh wild blueberry nuances build nicely in a crunchy, juicy wine that’s more about texture than overt fruit. Powdery tannins coat the tongue through the finish. There’s an old-school feel here that fills an attractive niche in the Hartford lineup.
Matured for 15 months in 25% new French oak, the 2023 Pinot Noir Velvet Sisters is intensely perfumed! Intoxicating raspberry and red cherry preserve, rose petal, pennyroyal and grilled orange aromas pour from the glass. The full-bodied palate features highly concentrated, complex flavors framed by velvety tannins and refreshing acidity, and it has a long, expressive finish. It changes dynamically as it airs in the glass and should be long lived in the cellar. 249 cases were made.
