The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is all varietal that will see 24 months in 80% new French oak. It's another killer wine from this team that has a powerful, structured, and classic 2021 style as well as cassis and blackberry fruits, lots of lead pencil, dark chocolate, and graphite notes. It has terrific mid-palate density, building tannins, and lots of minerality on the finish.

Roy Estate's 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon had yet to be bottled when I tasted it in November 2023, but the blend had been finalized. All Cabernet Sauvignon, it offers up scents of cassis, blueberry and licorice. In the mouth, it's deep, dark and richly concentrated, full-bodied and even a bit creamy textured on the mid-palate, and it adds a hint of menthol on the long, velvety finish.
Tasted from barrel, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon impresses with its combination of intensely dark fruit and notable vibrancy. Dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, spice, violet, graphite and crushed rocks all pulse through this layered, wonderfully expressive, nuanced Cabernet Sauvignon. This is one of the finest wines I have tasted from Roy.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon turned out well. Plum, blackberry, chocolate, licorice, tobacco and spice build in the glass as this potent Cabernet Sauvignon fleshes out. Readers should expect a rich, heady Cabernet with a ton of fruit and the imposing structure to match. It's classic Roy all the way.
