The 2018 Red Blend Hossfeld Coliseum is a pretty, open-knit wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Crushed red berry fruit, spice, rose petal and cinnamon are nicely lifted in this succulent, racy, Merlot-based blend.

A blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon, the deep garnet-purple colored 2018 Red Blend Hossfeld Coliseum delivers pronounced scents of stewed plums, blackberry preserves, kirsch and wild blueberries with suggestions of spice box, Sichuan pepper, menthol and star anise. The full-bodied palate is chock-full of expressive black and blue fruit preserves flavors, supported by ripe, rounded tannins and bold freshness, finishing long and spicy.
