I was blown away by the three wines I tasted from Edge Hill, a historic property in St. Helena proprietor Leslie Rudd and his team are doing wonders with. Edge Hill's 2010 Chardonnay Bacigalupi bursts from the glass with crushed rocks, lemon, spices and matchsticks. This exuberant, vivid Chardonnay impresses for its fabulous overall balance. The partially blocked malo style gives the 2010 marvelous freshness and tension, both of which add to its distinct, compelling personality.
