Mid crimson. Real interest and aroma on this – lots of blackcurrant fruit in the middle and then marked astringency on the finish. (JR)

Good full red. Lively, dark aromas of black cherry, blackberry and violet are lifted by a pungent mineral character. Juicy, tangy and quite pure, offering terrific clarity to its flavors of black fruits, violet and blood orange. Finishes with suave tannins and slowly mounting length. A lovely pure expression of terroir .
There are only 3½ barrels of the 2013 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru les Baudes this year, one of which is new. It has a broodier and more introspective bouquet compared to the Beaux-Bruns, with hints of forest floor and later, a sprig of wild mint. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile, quite rigid tannins that render this a very linear Chambolle-Musigny that just cuts away a little abruptly on the finish. Not a bad Chambolle, although Ghislaine has made better premier crus in this vintage.
