Note di degustazione
Red-ruby. Dark berries, mint and underbrush on the nose. Powerful and expansive, with sappy flavors of red cherry, strawberry, minerals and spices. Compellingly sweet and extract-rich. Spreads out impressively on the finish, with the ripe tannins covered by fleshy fruit. A very impressive 2001.

Loads of red fruits can be discerned in the aromas of the superb 2001 Clos de la Roche. Boasting a fabulous spread of red cherries, spices, and juniper berries, it is a supple, suave offering. Concentrated, gorgeously pure, and sappy, this fat, sensual wine has a stupendously long, meaty finish. Projected maturity: 2004-2013. Full medium ruby. Briary aromas of black cherry, blueberry, violet, roast coffee, bitter chocolate and thyme; a real essence of this grand cru. Very concentrated, spicy and sweet, with slightly reduced yet pure cassis and bitter chocolate flavor. Boasts a layered texture and solid underlying structure. In contrast to the Charmes-Chambertin, this really needs more time in barrel.
