Note di degustazione
Cool vintage. Mid ruby with some brick at the rim. More up-front spice and fruit but less core concentration than in the 2011. Very dry tannins that are perfectly balanced by the fruit. A rather more sinewy wine than the 2011 and yet powerful and elegant. Less seductive but with more refinement. Deliciously dry, tapering finish. It went perfectly with the venison that the kind caterer broad to my tasting table as I carried on tasting when everyone else was having lunch. (JH)

The dark color of the 2010 Blaufränkisch Lutzmannsburg Alte Reben announces a lovely pure and fresh, concentrated yet floral and mineral bouquet. Silky textured and vital on the palate, this is a juicy, though not sweet, beautifully pure and tension-filled wine full of vibrant energy, finesse and pithy tannins. The fruit is intense, but also extremely well focused. This is a great Lutzmannsburg Ate Reben with herbal and dried-fruit flavors in the long finish. Nougat flavors in the aftertaste. The wine reminds me a bit of old-style Riojas.
