Note di degustazione
The 2022 Pinot Noir Flax Estate comes from vines planted in 1996 on red volcanic soils near the Russian River. Grapes were harvested on August 15-16 and were unaffected by the extreme heat later in the season. Like the 2021, it's very pure and complex. It unfurls dramatically in the glass, releasing detailed scents of wild berries, citrus peel, aniseed, lavender and bitters. The medium-bodied palate offers tremendous depth and mouth-coating, spicy flavors. It's structured by abundant, grainy tannins and bright acidity and has a very long, floral finish. 525 cases were made.

A deep ruby/magenta color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Flax Estate Vineyard is more wild and has a darker profile, with black cherries, graphite, pine needles, and forest herbs. It’s a plush wine but retains a weightless feel, with ripe tannins, a kiss of sweet fruit underneath, and elegance all the way through. It will have a wide drinking window over the coming 20 years.
