Punteggio 89/100 · Robert Parker, Jan 1990
The Musigny is a large-framed wine. Ultimately, it may not turn out to be better than the Les Amoureuses, but it is certainly a wine that could eventually be outstanding. There is an abundance of lavishly rich, ripe berry fruit, medium body, good fresh acidity (another characteristic of the 1987s), and plenty of length. The wine, at least from an aromatic and textural standpoint, shows less precociousness and openness than Mugnier's two Premiers Crus. This is a wine to buy only if you intend to drink it over the near term, as its aging potential is limited.
