Punteggio 89-91/100 · Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, Jan 2018

(Boillot made just one and a half barrels here, compared to a normal four, due to serious frost damage): Bright, dark red with ruby tones. Slightly reticent aromas of redcurrant, red licorice, brown spices and dried flowers come across as a bit more medicinal and less ripe than the Gevrey premier crus. Intensely flavored but quite backward and even a bit disjointed on the palate, displaying as much soil and saline influence as primary fruits. Quite concentrated but the edgy mouth-dusting tannins make this wine very difficult to taste following Boillot's superb and more showy premier crus from Gevrey.

Punteggio 92-94/100 · Da bere 2021-2040, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Dec 2017

The 2016 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Pruliers was damaged 70% by frost. Yet it manages to foment a concentrated, very well-defined bouquet with blackberry and blueberry fruit, wonderfully defined and focused. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, very dense and focused with a gorgeous oyster shell tincture toward the long finish. This is the finest 2016 from Louis Boillot this year—superb.
