Note di degustazione
Fairchild's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3 emerges from the Tench vineyard, which is the heart of the valley floor in Eastern Oakville. Dark, sumptuous and explosive, with all of the resonance that is typical of the wines from this district in Oakville, the Tench has much to offer. This heady, full-throttle Cabernet is another winner from Larry Fairchild and Philippe Melka.

Coming from the Tench Vineyard in Oakville, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3 has an opaque garnet-purple color and is profoundly scented of crème de cassis, blackberry compote and dried mulberries with suggestions of dusty earth, dried Provence herbs, lavender and tar plus a waft of black olives. Full-bodied and firmly constructed with grainy tannins and lively acid defining the generous black fruit, it finishes long and savory. 220 cases were made.
The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Stones No. 3, from Tench in Oakville, is deep inky and super-expressive. Crème de cassis, spice, licorice and violet overtones are fused together in a deep, flamboyant Cabernet loaded with personality. This is the most primary and unevolved of the three 2015s I saw.
