A blend of 92% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, 3% Carménère and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2022 Boutisse reveals an introverted, closed bouquet of spices and oak. Medium to full-bodied, rich and firm, it's concentrated with a firm, youthful tannic frame and long, robust, spicy and saline finish. It's too oaky for my taste.

Red and black fruits, spicy wood, tobacco, and hints of chocolate all emerge from the 2022 Château Boutisse, a charming, medium to full-bodied, plush, sexy Saint-Emilion. It's already hard to resist, yet this will drink nicely over the coming 15 years or more if well stored. The blend is 92% Merlot, 3% each of Cabernet Franc and Carménère, and the rest Cabernet Sauvignon, all aged 16 months in 30% new barrels.
Deep inky plum in colour, and a wall of tannins on the attack. Things soften to show sculpted brambled fruits, along with mint and chocolate shavings; Enjoyable; plenty of character. First year of classification, Marc Miahlade owner. 30% new oak, 5% amphora.
