Coming from a vineyard just down the road from Kapcsandy and made by Thomas Rivers Brown, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a brilliant wine in a brilliant vintage. Red and black fruits, iron, tobacco, and graphite all define the aromatics, and it hits the palate with a Bordeaux-like sense of structure and tannin, with medium to full-bodied richness, a focused, layered, yet chiseled mouthfeel, and flawless overall balance. This classic, age-worthy beauty deserves 5-6 years in the cellar and will evolve nicely over the following two decades. It's a gorgeous wine.

The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is an absolute joy. Rich, sumptuous and packed with fruit, the 2021 is also wonderfully immediate. A burst of succulent dark raspberry, mint, rose petal and sweet spice makes a strong first impression. Hints of bay leaf, lavender, graphite and sage add an attractive cooling note that serves as a reminder that we’re in the middle of the valley in Yountville. Soft, silky tannins wrap it all together in style.
The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is absolutely gorgeous. Dark, bold and intensely savory, the 2021 offers up a mélange of black cherry, gravel, spice, lavender and minerals. The Casa Piena Cabernet has typically been quite forward and fruity, but the 2021 stands out for its strong savory and mineral character. Unfortunately, yields are down sharply. This is impressive.
