Bright, saturated ruby-red. Highly nuanced nose offers roasted currant, espresso, meat, mocha and underbrush. Dense, sweet and complex; a real essence of Stags Leap earth. Finishes long and juicy, with very suave, thoroughly ripe tannins.

The Chateau Margaux look-alike, the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Stags Leap District, exhibits a dense ruby/purple color as well as a sweet nose of acacia flowers, white chocolate, and asphalt presented in a medium to full-bodied, well-delineated, lush style that manages to conceal serious tannin in the finish. A blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Merlot, this beauty can be enjoyed now and over the next 12-15 years. Tel. (707) 226-1395 and (800) MONDAVI; fax (707) 251-4386
Saturated bright ruby. Ripe, sappy aromas of crystallized cassis and black cherry. Dense, rich and sweet, with unusual breadth and mouth coverage for a Stags Leap cabernet. Very ripe suggestions of black fruit syrup. Finishes subtle and long, with very fine tannins coating the cheeks.
