A complex, intriguing field blend, the 2021 Nervo Heritage Wine is laced with dried autumn leaves, dried flowers, mint, tobacco and cedar. The Nervo is distinctive not just for its age (it was planted in 1896) for the presence of the rarely-seen Negrette as the second most prominent variety in the Zinfandel-based field blend. Readers will find a wine with strong earthy, spice and leafy notes that are pushed forward, while the fruit is more in the background.
