Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2015-2045, Robert Parker, Oct 2015

Another big-time winner from Shirley Roy is her 450 cases of 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate. This is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot with an opaque purple color and a fabulous notes of lead pencil shavings, licorice, roasted herbs, damp soil and oodles of blackberry and cassis fruit. It is long, rich, multilayered and impressively endowed. This wine was aged 27 months in new Taransaud oak, which is soaked up beautifully. Its should drink well for 30 or more years.

Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2017-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Oct 2015

Shirley Roy's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is deep, textured and flat-out delicious. Raspberry jam, spices, new leather and licorice are all pushed forward. The style is direct and opulent, with plenty of mid-palate richness and overall intensity. Dark chocolate, plum and cloves meld into the resonant, inviting finish.

Punteggio 94/100 · Da bere 2017-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Dec 2014

Ample and voluptuous, Roy's 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon is quite expressive today. Floral and savory overtones add lift in a nuanced, resonant Cabernet Sauvignon built on pure textural elegance. Another effortless, gracious wine, the 2012 is also a great example of the tremendous near and medium term appeal of the year.

(blended with 9% petit verdot; aging in about 90% new Taransaud oak): Saturated medium ruby to the rim. Sweet aromas of kirsch, mocha, truffle and game are accented by mint and lavender. Chewy, dense and savory, with briary dark berry, game and loam flavors nicely supported by substantial fine-grained tannins. Winemaker Philippe Melka says the wine's wildness comes from the petit verdot.
