2015 Domaine Garnier et Fils Chablis Montmains 1er Cru

The 2015 Chablis 1Er Cru Montmains has a very tropical, rather commercial bouquet that is actually more like a well-made Australian Chardonnay than a Chablis! It seems totally different from the Fourchaume or the Mont de Milieu that likewise were tasted blind. Curious. The palate is rounded and honeyed on the entry, very tropical in style. It's the kind of wine you glug down too quickly and regret the next morning, rather than a wine to intellectualize. This is pleasant but too simple for a premier cru. I am going to reserve my judgment for now, given the quality of its fellow premier crus.
