Note di degustazione
The 2009 Aglianico del Vulture Titolo shows an evident note of sweetness that transcends the bouquet and the mouthfeel. Morello cherry, ripe blackberry and plum is backed by cinnamon, cardamon and Asian spice. The quality of the nose is intense, bright, seamless and extremely balanced. Of the various editions of Titolo tasted in this vertical, the 2009 is among the most opulent, rich and fleshed out. Even the quality of the tannins feels superior from a textural point of view with thick lines and a velvety feel. Titolo still shows primary youthfulness and should age steadily over the course of the next decade.

Elena Fucci's 2009 Aglianico del Vulture is absolutely gorgeous in this vintage. Sweet roses, red berries and grilled herbs all caress the palate. This is an especially silky, polished version of the Titolo that impresses for its textural brilliance, freshness and vibrancy. The Titolo is not a huge wine, nor is it especially varietal, but it is unquestionably a work of beauty. The balance of fruit, acidity and structure is simply compelling. Over time, though, the wine turns increasingly varietal with hints of smoke, tobacco, licorice and incense that flesh out on a vibrant radiant finish supported by imposing yet well-balanced tannins. I can't wait to see how the 2009 ages. This is a wonderful showing in a vintage where so many wines are less than inspiring.
