The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras is another of the more explosive wines in this range. Blueberry jam, cassis, graphite and pencil shavings jump out in a structured, powerful Cabernet Sauvignon endowed with tons of personality and class. The flavors are dark and intensely mineral-infused in a classic expression of Las Piedras. The 2012 could use another few years in the cellar, but it is striking, even at this early stage.

From another highly regarded site, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras exhibits sweet loamy soil undertones, plenty of red and black fruits, and hints of charcoal, espresso roast and subtle barbecue smoke. There is a distinctive, earthy terroir character to this Cabernet that should drink well for 15-20 years.
