Aged in 70% new French oak and imbued with a rather sinewy structure, Chimney Rock's 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon South Hill boasts aromas of cedar, baking spices, black cherries and cassis. On the palate, it comes across darker and riper, medium to full-bodied, yet it remains taut and wiry. Maybe this will improve with time in the cellar?

The South Hill is an attractive wine, but it doesn't have the sheer charm of the other wines in the range. I expected more here.
