Note di degustazione
Subtle aromatics of plum skin and a refreshing olive accent. Nice inclusion of herbal notes through the palate alongside fresh purple and black fruit and hints of floral notes. Rocky minerality throughout. Lightly textural mouthfeel. Good balance of oak to fruit to regional expression. Pleasant and pretty but a little light on concentration and density. Decant upon opening. Fleming's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows the richer side of the year its black fruit and ample, broad-shouldered personality. Succulent at quite bold at the outset, the 2013 presents a slightly roasted quality along with tannins that aren't perfectly ripe. Still, there is plenty to like in the wine's forward, opulent personality. Strong winds towards the end of the season caused sever dehydration on the vine.
Another pretty, mid-weight wine, Kelly Fleming's 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon shows a little more freshness and energy than the 2012. Dark red cherry, menthol, licorice, plums and sweet spices are all nicely shaped in an attractive, forward 2013 that should drink well right out of the gate.
