The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is quite the powerhouse. It’s a wine that very much reflects the character of a year with low yields. Black cherry, gravel, incense, worn-in leather and scorched earth lend notable gravitas throughout. This is a decidedly somber, virile vintage for the Napa Valley Cabernet.

Corison's 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon continues to offer refined, youthful scents of cassis, black cherries and black olives. Par for the course, it's medium-bodied, silky and elegant, while also showing ample concentration, tannin and plenty of energy, suggesting a long life remains ahead. Like 2022, this vintage was on the early side, making it a nice reference when looking at the younger wine. The price provided is the release price; expect to pay rather more today, if you can find it.

An elegant, well-balanced, finely chiseled red that's fresh in texture, focused in red and black fruit flavors and so appealing to drink. Creme de cassis, dried blueberry, star anise, iron and blackberry flavors, with herbal and olive accents and wonderful complexity. Just starting to develop a bit of bottle bouquet, but has a long life ahead. Drink now or hold.

Cathy Corison is one of Napa’s leading lights – a matriarch of the region who crafts defiantly elegant Cabernet Sauvignon from her old vines on the benchland between Rutherford and St Helena. These refined, long-ageing wines are some of Napa’s most impressive.
