2009 Tenimenti Luigi d'Alessandro Syrah Cortona Migliara

The 2009 Syrah Migliara is an intriguing wine. Deceptively medium in body, the 2009 graces the palate with expressive, floral-inflected aromas and flavors. Licorice, tobacco, incense and orange peel all introduce an element of exoticism that is highly attractive. As delicious as the 2009 is, it isn't especially varietal. I am curious to see if those nuances develop over time. Overall, this is a fairly delicate, restrained Syrah.
