2011 Ravenswood Zinfandel Dickerson Vineyard

Glass-staining ruby. Displays ripe raspberry and cherry-vanilla scents, along with notes of cola, anise and woodsmoke. Fleshy, expansive red fruit flavors become spicier with air and pick up notes of candied rose and mocha. Tightens up on the finish, which is framed by dusty tannins and leaves sweet vanilla and red fruit compote notes behind. Doesn't act like a wine from a weak Napa vintage.
