Note di degustazione
Like the Esprit release, the 2013 Panoplie is more firm and focused, with medium to full-bodied richness carrying impressive notes of plums, smoked herbs, caramelized meats and pepper. I love the tannin quality, but there's not a huge amount of flesh here either. Give bottles 2-4 years of cellaring and enjoy over the following decade. The blend of the 2013 is 75% Mourvedre, 15% Grenache and 10% Syrah, aged 20 months in foudre.

Glass-staining ruby. Complex, explosive aromas of ripe red berries, incense, peppery spices and fresh flowers develop a smoky mineral quality with air. Juicy, densely packed and precise on the palate, offering sappy black raspberry, cherry compote and spicecake flavors that show a very suave blend of richness and finesse. Tightens up steadily on the extremely long, incisive finish, which is framed by subtle, fine-grained tannins.
Glass-staining ruby. Deeply pitched spice- and mineral-accented red and dark berry aromas are lifted by a sexy floral nuance. Silky, sweet and expansive, offering powerful blackberry liqueur and floral pastille flavors plus hints of cola and spicecake. Clings with serious tenacity on the penetrating, fruit-driven finish, which features youthful tannins and a suave touch of candied lavender.
