The 2015 Pinot Noir Winery Hill Vineyard comes from Dijon clone vines at 900 feet of elevation and was aged 17 months in 45% new French oak. Pale ruby-garnet, it has a nose of gravel dust, black tea leaves, mushroom, tree bark, bay leaf, cinnamon stick and clove with fragrant earth, dried roses and potpourri. Medium-bodied, it offers amaro-laced fruits and spices in the mouth with a firm, grainy frame and long, bitters-laced finish. A compelling wine from Domaine Serene—very different from the rest of the lineup and absolutely delicious.

Glimmering ruby-red. Expansive, spice-accented red/dark berry scents pick up hints of succulent herbs and smoky minerals with air. Juicy, focused and appealingly sweet on the palate, offering juicy raspberry and cherry-cola flavors that are complemented by five-spice powder, vanilla and allspice flourishes. Closes very long and smooth, with emphatic red fruit character and rounded tannins that add framework and grip. (45% new French oak)
