The 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon To-Kalon Reserve is rich with graphite and cassis flavors. There are 1,000 cases of this intensely concentrated blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc. It is made from Mondavi's home vineyard in Oakville, and boasts a saturated ruby/purple color in addition to a sweet nose of creme de cassis, vanilla, licorice, tobacco, and smoke. The wine is sweet in the mouth, with medium to full body, excellent precision as well as purity. It represents a synthesis between the Margaux-like, perfumed style of the Stags Leap District Cabernet, and the more powerful, structured, Pauillac-like Oakville cuvee.
