Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2019-2032, Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, Aug 2016

The 2014 Chablis Grand Cru Vaudésir was picked on 19 September. It has a delineated bouquet with scents of white peach and brioche, a touch of smokiness developing with continued aeration. The palate is well balanced with nectarine and orange zest on the entry, a keen line of acidity, very fine precision with a touch of spiciness on the long finish. This should turn into a delicious Vaudésir.

Pale yellow. Orange peel, underripe pineapple, lime zest and wild herbs on the enticing musky nose. Very ripe and creamy on the palate, conveying an impression of softer acidity than the Mont de Milieu owing to its very well integrated acidity. But there's no shortage of energy here. Made from two parcels of vines, one old and one young.

(from Drouhin's largest grand cru holding, at 1.5 hectares; vinified in one-year-old 500-liter casks): Pale yellow-green. Wonderfully complex perfume of lime and orange zest and minerals. Then silky and voluptuous in the mouth, a distinct step up in texture and fat from the Mont de Milieu. But this very pure wine is nicely energized by brisk, harmonious acidity. Finishes lively and long. Very nicely ripe for the vintage but this has the balance for a graceful evolution in bottle.
