Another Oakville release, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard offers a terrific sense of minerality in its deep black and blue fruits as well as classic Cabernet notes of lead pencil, violets, unsmoked tobacco, cedar, and bouquet garni. A riveting, deep, full-bodied 2018, it has wonderful purity of fruit, a stacked mid-palate, silky tannins, and a great, great finish. This is a total gem of a wine that can be drunk today or cellared for 20+ years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard is such an inviting wine. Freshly cut flowers, mint, raspberry, blood orange and white pepper give the Fortuna a brilliant upper register that carries through to the finish. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the Fortuna has quite a bit to offer.
Displaying a deep garnet-purple color, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard opens with opulent scents of plum preserves, warm cassis and Black Forest cake plus suggestions of Chinese five spice, dusty soil, garrigue and dried lavender with a touch of star anise. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is jam-packed with black fruit preserves flavors, supported by very finely grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing with great length and a spicy kick.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Fortuna Vineyard is sensual, open-knit and wonderfully inviting. Kirsch, raspberry jam, wild flowers and sweet spice all grace this super-expressive, mid-weight Cabernet Sauvignon from Turnbull.
