Mid ruby. Sweet fruit on the nose and completely palate-spreading on the palate. More satisfying and flattering than many. Complete and quite forward. Quite long and no jagged edges. (JR)

Good bright medium red. Cherry, red licorice, flowers, mint and pepper on the nose. Juicy, peppery red cherry and fresh herb flavors offer good intensity, with some brisk acidity giving the wine a slightly edgy quality. Finishes with dusty tannins and good length.
Moderately saturated medium red. Perfumed aromas of blackberry and violet. Juicy and firm-edged, with slightly tart acids and a bit of a dip in the middle. Finishes cool and medicinal, with a slight dryness. (This wine followed a rather diffuse, plummy Nuits-Saint-Georges Aux Vignerondes, which seemed dilute.)

Domaine Faiveley is one of Burgundy’s most important wine producers. The family-owned estate, now in the hands of the seventh generation, is one of the largest in the region, with significant holdings in both the Côte d’Or and the Côte Chalonnaise.
