Note di degustazione
Saturated dark red. Full-blown aromas of redcurrant, plum, raspberry, smoky tobacco, mocha, nutty oak and earth. Open-knit and a bit high-toned on the palate, with spicy red fruit flavors offering a dusty, tactile texture. Finishes with ripe, dusty tannins and a note of caraway seed. Lots of sweet oak here, but could use a bit more grip and verve.

Loads of dark fruits and hazelnuts on the nose with subtle undertones of black licorice. Full body with silky tannins and a delicate but dense finish of chocolate, berry and lightly toasted oak. Better in 2016.
The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Missouri Hopper is laced with black cherry, plum, smoke, iron and licorice notes. This is an especially dark, ripe Rutherford Cabernet with tons of intensity and persistence. Ferrous, earthy notes add gravitas to the finish in this impeccably balanced, poised wine. There is no shortage of intrigue or personality in the glass.
Another excellent effort, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Missouri Hopper is not as explosively fruity as the To Kalon, and plays it closer to the vest. Concentrated and medium to full-bodied with silky tannins, plenty of blue, red and black fruits, and good overall equilibrium, it should drink well for 10-12+ years. These are the first wines I have tasted from The Debate winery, but they certainly have two high quality sources for their Cabernet Sauvignon. Tel. (707) 204-0934; www.thedebatewine.com
