The 2000 Pinot Noir Ferrington Vineyard reveals a dense plum/ruby color. The wine possesses floral notes along with black cherries, hints of sassafras, and a medium-bodied, oaky but tasty, fleshy style. Good saturated medium ruby. Superripe yet discreet aromas of dark berries, black cherry, raspberry, licorice and pencil shavings. Very sweet on entry, then firm, minerally and gripping. Slightly rustic and rough in texture but not in flavor. Tannins are still a bit angular.
