Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2026-2034, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Jan 2024

The 2021 Zinfandel Stomping Grounds is a new wine, sourced from the estate plus a collection of nearby vineyards. Succulent dark cherry, plum, spice, new leather, cedar, sweet pipe tobacco and dried flowers are nicely pushed forward. The 2021 spent 20 months in neutral oak—a bit more than most wines in the range.

50% estate fruit, with the remainder from Maffei, Banfield, Grist, Bacigalupi, Monte Rosso and Carlisle vineyards. 11 months in neutral French oak. Medium purple in colour. Layers of spicy red chilli, blackberry, bramble and a dusty rockiness. Incredible depth of flavour, with high, mouth-watering acidity and huge concentration of fruit without being overly heavy. Very long on the finish. Continues to open and blossom – lovely. (SCJ)

The 2021 Zinfandel (Russian River Valley) is an absolute delight. Bright and intensely floral, the 2021 is packed with varietal character. Crushed red berry fruit, white flowers and mint all race out of the glass in this refreshing, juicy Zinfandel from Limerick Lane. This is an absolute winner.

A bright saturated ruby, the 2021 Zinfandel Russian River Valley is lifted with fresh aromas of candied peach, grenadine, and pressed red flowers. Medium to full-bodied, with great energy in its notes of fresh mixed berries, gravelly earth, and mocha, it’s an elegant wine with fine tannins, a stony texture, and a good, clean finish. It’s a fantastic entry to the wines from Limerick Lane to drink over the next several years.
