Note di degustazione
(bottled in September of 2014; vinified with 30% whole clusters): Medium red. Redcurrant and floral aromas show an almost liqueur-like ripeness. Dense, fat and sweet, offering terrific intensity and inner-mouth tension to its flavors of dried berries and rose petal. The finish builds impressively for village wine. Liger-Belair told me the crop level here was just ten (!) hectoliters per hectare.

Bright cherry colour. Spicy red and black fruit. Firm but velvety tannins. Something to get your teeth into with just enough freshness. Dry-textured finish. (JH)
(from 50-year-old vines on the north side of the village; vinified with 30% whole clusters): Good dark red. Precise red fruit aromas lifted by a floral topnote. Tangy, juicy and light on its feet. Slightly lean in the middle but vibrant and pure. Finishes with spices and a hint of peppery herbs.
Rose petals, mint, pine and rosemary meld into sweet red fruits in the 2012 Nuits-Saint-Georges La Charmotte, a wine that stands out for its energy and tension. There is a crystalline purity to the fruit that is impossible to miss. The Charmotte is shaping up to be a beauty.
