The 2014 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard sings of butterscotch, ripe apricots, orange blossoms and toasted almonds with suggestions of lemon peel and grapefruit essence. Medium to full-bodied, it fills the palate with generous stone fruit and toasty flavor layers, defined by a racy line of acid and finishing with epic length.

More generous, rounded and sexy than the 2015 (and 2013), the 2014 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard offers a buttered peach, caramelized pineapple, and honeysuckle nose to go with lots of minerality, full-bodied richness, and sensational purity of fruit. It’s another tour de force in Chardonnay to enjoy through 2026.
The 2014 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard shows just how well suited this part of the Sonoma Coast is to Chardonnay. A rich, ample wine, the 2014 boasts striking depth and overall balance. Lemon confit, white flowers, vanilla and a host of savory notes accompany the long, extended finish. This is a very polished and distinguished wine from Wayfarer.
The 2014 Chardonnay Wayfarer Vineyard is a total knock-out. Deep, phenolic and intense, the 2014 exudes power from start to finish. Lemon confit, orange blossom, mint and white pepper are all pushed forward. Today, the Chardonnay is quite bold, but there is plenty of latent finesse as well. I would give the 2014 at least another year or two. There is certainly a lot to look forward to. At times, I feel the far Sonoma Coast's greatest potential is with Chardonnay rather than Pinot (which is much more popular in the market). This is one of those times.
