Note di degustazione
Another Howell Mountain release, the 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Ranch Vineyard has plenty of upfront plum and currant-like fruits as well as a plush, medium to full-bodied, nicely textured style on the palate. I like its mid-palate, and it offers attractive chocolate and smoked herb aromatics, ripe tannins, some gravelly earth-like minerality, and outstanding length. It should evolve for 15-20 years.

The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Steinhauer Ranch is the most potent and savory of the Howell Mountain Cabernets. Iron, grilled herbs, menthol, licorice and chocolate all run through the 2018. Huge, massive tannins need time to soften, but the 2018 is always going to be a powerhouse. The fruit profile here is on the riper side, but all the elements mesh together effortlessly.
