I also loved the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon, which includes 12% Cabernet Franc and spent 22 months in 80% new French oak. It too has plenty of oak as well as blue fruits, earthy/forest notes, some chocolate hints, medium to full body, and a ripe, rounded, sexy style. It’s a decadent, nicely balanced Cabernet to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. There are 390 cases.

Welcome to the dark side! Some tar and charcoal on the nose, then a full-bodied, well structured palate without any hint of chewy tannins, making this a distinctive cabernet. Plenty of earthy at the long, polished finish. Drink or hold.
The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville Ranch is a blend from the Summit, Robert's and Terraces blocks, three of the best spots on this large, sprawling ranch. Powerful and dense in the glass, the 2016 boasts tremendous richness in every direction. Bittersweet chocolate, plum, new leather and espresso add the wine's dark personality. The 2016 boasts huge fruit and equally imposing structure. I would give it at least a few years to fully come together.
