1990 Domaine de l'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges Clos des Forets-Saint-Georges 1er Cru

In a vintage such as 1990, the wines from this estate possess a more saturated color than in 1989 or 1988, but remain seductive and compelling. When compared to the 1990 Nuits St. Georges-Clos l'Arlot, the richer Nuits St.-Georges-Clos des Forets displays a deeper dark ruby color, a big, sweet, expansive nose of jammy black fruits, smoke, underbrush, and damp earth. In the mouth, there is superb richness, a velvety texture, and a long, voluptuously rich, unctuous finish. I would opt for drinking it over the next 10 years.
