Even better is the 2008 Pinot Noir Louis Estate. It too has a multi-dimensional perfume of cherry blossom, violets, spice box, incense, and assorted black fruits. It delivers greater density, structure, and length along with layers of savory fruit. This intense offering will benefit from 3-5 years of cellaring and may well see its 20th birthday in style. Tel. Saturated ruby. More powerful and exotic on the nose than the previous wine, with intensely perfumed lift to the strawberry, raspberry, potpourri, white pepper and incense aromas. Juicy and extremely suave, with striking fruit intensity and mounting spiciness. Finishes smooth, with pepper and spice notes and more power than the Laur e ne but not quite that wine's finesse. This was raised in 40% new oak.
