Note di degustazione
The 2015 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru is showing beautifully, unfurling in the glass with aromas of cherries, licorice, rich soil tones, espresso roast and toasty new oak. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and elegantly enveloping, velvety tannins and bright acids frame its vibrant core of fruit and contribute appropriate back-end grip. Deep and concentrated, it's also impressively dynamic for the vintage.

Good medium red. Sexy but reticent aromas of black raspberry, smoke and game. More voluminous in the mouth than the Lavaux Saint-Jacques, showing excellent depth to its dark fruit flavors. Tightens up on the back end, but the firmly tannic, saline finish delivers terrific length. I may be underrating this wine.
Dark red with ruby tones. Slightly reduced nose offers red fruits, smoke and leather. Rich, sweet and concentrated, with a fine-grained texture and sappy, mouth-saturating flavors of cherry, spices and menthol. For all its sucrosité and ripeness, this wine is nicely taut. Dugat notes that this Charmes will be bottled with 12.5% natural alcohol.
