Note di degustazione
(16.4% alcohol): Fresh, full red. Mellow aromas and flavors of plum, redcurrant, tobacco, mocha and loam. Then tactile and chewy in the mouth, a step up in energy and lift from the 2000 bottling. I love the combination of sweetness and salinity here, as well as the wine's retention of fruit. Juicy, concentrated and very long, finishing with suave tannins. Complete and at its peak; like a few other of these wines, this struck me as positively Bordeaux-like.

The saturated purple-colored 2001 Zinfandel Hayne Vineyard (16.4% alcohol) boasts a glorious bouquet of flowers, blackberries, raspberries, and cherries backed up by enormous body, great purity, tremendous texture, and a finish that lasts for 40-45 seconds. Usually one of the stars of this impressive portfolio, it is seamlessly made with tremendous integration of acidity, tannin, and spice. This fruit-dominated Zinfandel should last for a decade, although it can be enjoyed in its youth. It is a profound effort. Tel. (707) 963-0940
(16.2% alcohol) Saturated ruby-purple. Sexy aromas of black raspberry, black cherry and flowers. Creamy-sweet and thick but with gripping acids giving clarity to the powerful, highly concentrated fruit. Like an essence of fresh dark berries. The big, ripe tannins are buffered by the wine's fruit of steel. Certain to rank among the best zins Jordan has yet made at Turley Wine Cellars.
