Note di degustazione
This is a seductive, elegant, attractive Pomerol with a deep ruby color, plenty of sweet, plum, cherry and berry fruit intermixed with subtle toasty new oak. The wine is round and lush, with copious fruit and enough glycerin to provide a nicely layered texture in a stylish format. Anticipated maturity: Now-2006.

The 1995 La Croix de Gay has a charming nose with scents of crushed strawberry, redcurrant, touches of garrigue and wild mushroom with good delineation and bags of charm. The palate is medium-bodied with good weight in the mouth, supple tannins and a little piquancy on the entry, but it fans out nicely with a well-defined cherry- and redcurrant-tinged freshness interlaced with truffle and sous-bois . This is a lovely Pomerol just reaching its drinking plateau. Tasted June 2011. Tasting note taken from the Pomerol book by Neal Martin.
Medium bright red. Ripe, toasty, black cherry and chocolate nose. Smooth and sweet, with tart cherry flavor. Finishing note of espresso. Has a toughness on the aftertaste, and a slight sweet/sour character, but there's also good flavor intensity and lingering fruit.
