Note di degustazione
Moving to the Rhône blends, the 2020 Cuvée Jean-Marie Williamson-Doré Vineyard checks in as 52% Grenache and 48% Syrah that was destemmed and aged 18 months in neutral puncheons. This awesome bottle of wine has lots of blackberry and wild strawberry fruits, medium to full body, beautiful purity and precision, fine-grained tannins, and complex notes of peppery herbs, candied violets, and spice. It’s great today yet should evolve for 8-10 years. I still find the 2020s to be slightly hit-or-miss from this reference point producer in the Central Coast, but the good news is that the 2021s appear to be a step up as well as more consistent.

The 2020 Cuvée Jeanne Marie Williamson-Doré Vineyard, Foxen's Grenache/Mourvèdre blend, is super-impressive. Blood orange, dried herbs, rose petal and lavender all come together with a bit of aeration. The aromatic presence of Grenache, the darker profile and greater weight of Mourvèdre work so well together.
