Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2019-2029, Anthony Mueller, Wine Advocate, Dec 2019

The 2016 Syrah Boushey Vineyard Arnaut is scented of focused red and black fruits, black peppercorn spices and wafts of soft dustiness on the nose. On the palate, there is a line of focused black cherry and dark plum with red and black spices and dusty red flowers. The acidity is balanced and persists onto the long-lingering finish, showing the depth and breadth of a well-made wine. Only 430 cases made.

This has a rich and vibrant array of ripe dark plums with a stylishly spicy sheen to the nose. The palate has long, silky tannins and really delivers a wealth of pleasure now with the fleshy, concentrated blackberries it offers. Drink or hold.

The flagship Syrah is the 2016 Syrah Arnaut, which is always 100% Syrah from Dick Boushey’s vineyard in the Yakima Valley. This deep ruby-colored effort is as silky and seamless as it gets, offering loads of black raspberry, blackberry, smoked earth, spice, and hints of chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, ultra-pure, and impeccably balanced, it's a beautiful wine from Chris to enjoy over the coming 10-15 years. Winemaker Chris Peterson continues to fashion some of the most impressive wines in the State. These are always more classical in style and show plenty of acidity and structure in their youth, yet they blossom with just short term cellaring and are brilliant wines.

(vinified with native yeasts; aged in 15% new oak): Bright ruby-red. Complex aromas of dark fruits, violet, mocha and espresso. Concentrated and plush, with its flavors of black fruits, licorice and spices lifted by a floral element and complicated by wilder notes of meat and garrigue . Boasts a lovely core of sweet fruit and finishes with excellent length.
