2016 Ferrari-Carano Trésor

The 2016 Trésor is composed of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Malbec, 8% Petit Verdot, 6% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The nose opens with heavy oak influence—nutmeg, cardamom, clove, cedar and vanilla—over a core of cassis, black cherries, leather, dried herbs and graphite. The palate is full-bodied and firm with entirely too much new oak character, both in texture and flavor, finishing like a hit of Bourbon. If you love new oak, this is for you.
