Blackberry jam, graphite, spice, cloves, licorice and lavender burst from Buoncristiani's 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Core. Powerful, dense and structured, the 2016 possesses tremendous depth and intensity in all of its dimensions. The tannins need time to soften, but this is an impressive showing from Buoncristiani.

Very deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon The Core leaps from the glass with gregarious scents of crushed wild blueberries, chocolate-covered black cherries, black raspberries and warm cassis with touches of candied violets, licorice, potpourri, black tea and cigar boxes. Full-bodied and packed to the gills with stacks of black fruit and floral layers, it has a rock-solid frame of grainy tannins and great freshness, finishing very long and exquisitely perfumed.
