Punteggio 96/100 · Da bere 2025-2035, Josh Raynolds, Dec 2020

Opaque ruby. Powerful, smoke- and mineral-accented blackberry, cherry cola and candied lavender aromas show fine delineation and take on a savory herb nuance with air. Sweet, weighty and expansive in the mouth, offering deeply concentrated cherry and dark berry preserve, fruitcake and floral pastille flavors and hints of licorice and cola. The strikingly long, penetrating finish shows strong, spicy cut, an echo of juicy blue fruit and velvety tannins that sneak in late.

Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2020-2027, Erin Brooks, Wine Advocate, Oct 2020

The 2017 Panoplie is a blend of 69% Mourvèdre, 17% Grenache and 14% Syrah. It has a pale to medium ruby-purple color and a nose of fresh blackberries, tar, Earl Grey tea leaves and tangerine peel with a bright hint of balsamic. The medium to full-bodied palate is very perfumed, concentrated and super fresh with a grainy frame and long, layered finish. 850 cases produced.

The flagship is the 2017 Panoplie, a Mourvèdre-dominated wine that includes 17% Grenache and 14% Syrah. Slightly deeper hued compared to the Esprit de Tablas, it offers a beautiful bouquet of smoked black fruits, ground pepper, roasted meats, and bouquet garni-like aromas and flavors. It's beautifully textured, seamless, and elegant on the palate, with fine tannins and a great finish. It's going to benefit from short-term cellaring and will be drinking nicely at age 20.

Vivid magenta. Deeply perfumed red and blue fruit, lavender and exotic spice qualities on the highly expressive nose, which is brightened by a smoky mineral overtone. Chewy, sweet and incisive on the palate, offering juicy raspberry, cassis, cherry, violet pastille and spicecake flavors that tighten up slowly with air. Densely packed yet lively in style, delivering firm closing thrust and velvety tannins on an impressively long, floral- and spice-driven finish.
